Coach Shane Eakle took over the Bees Football Program in 2019 after being the Defensive Coordinator and Asst. Head Coach at Tucker County High school. In Coach Eakle's time at Tucker he helped the Mt. Lions 5 playoff appearances including a state Semi Final run in 2012 to be cut short in a double OT loss to eventual State Champions Weirton-Madonna. The Mt. Lions were one of the Top Defensive units in points allowed under Coach Eakle the defensive units averaged 169 points a season (16.9 points per game).
Since 2019 Coach Eakle has helped guide the Bees to 3 playoff appearances in 2022 and 2023 (AA) 2024 (AAA). This matches the school's 3 playoff appearances in the school's first 98 seasons. (1976), (2006), (2007) AAA.
